February fishing has been steady inshore and nearshore. Many HUNGRY anglers after triple tail and sheepshead. These fish enjoy cooler water temperatures and are abundant during our winer months. Anglers catch both species on light tackle and live bait. Triple tail will also chase artificial and fly's since they are an ambush feeder.
Inshore fishing the flats and canal systems. Anglers are catching sheepshead, redfish, snook and snapper! Legal species go home for a fresh dinner. Captain cleans your catch at the dock.
Looking for something with a stronger pull? Shark fishing is in full swing. Photo below was taken last week and the FIRST shark to come aboard the skeeter. He seemed to enjoy it. Common winter species are Spinner, Blacktip, and Sandbar Shark. XL Bull sharks and Hammerheads arrive April - July chasing the tarpon!
All catches in this post were caught February 2019 in Boca Grande Florida & Surrounding islands.
